Speaking to the media before leaving South Korea to continue his rehab in the United States, Ryu said he is aiming to get back on the mound following the 2023 All-Star break, per the Korea Times.

The 35-year-old southpaw made just six starts for the Blue Jays in 2022, finishing his season with a 5.67 ERA in 27 innings pitched.

Ryu is entering the final season of a four-year, $80 million deal he signed with Toronto before the 2020 season.

Since signing north of the border, the former Dodger has thrown 263 innings with a 4.07 ERA. He received MVP votes and finished third in Cy Young voting after his first season with the Blue Jays.
