The Las Vegas Raiders are making a quarterback change, saying Wednesday they will start Jarrett Stidham ahead of struggling veteran Derek Carr for the final two games of the season.

Carr, who is a three-time Pro Bowler, threw three interceptions — pushing his league-leading total to 14 — in Saturday’s 13-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“None of us is happy with where we’re at. We think it’s an opportunity to evaluate a younger player who hasn’t had much time to play,” Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said.

The Raiders (6-9) are mathematically alive, but they need to win their final two games and get tons of help to make the playoffs.

The New England Patriots traded Stidham, a fourth-round pick in 2019, to the Raiders prior to this season.

Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers will mark Stidham’s first career NFL start.

The 26-year-old Stidham saw limited action in relief in two games for the Raiders this season. He also got into eight games for the Patriots.
